City of Lakes Loppet, Saturday & Sunday February 6-7, 2010
Free bus service and V.I.P. treatment for those riding or biking

Bike or ride the bus for free to the loppet and take advantage of a V.I.P. heated tent and free bicycle parking hosted by the Bike Walk Ambassador Program.

Bus service is free on Loppet Saturday (Feb. 6) from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. when you present the pdf icon Go Greener Pass.  The Go Greener Program is sponsored by Metro Transit.  Visit metrotransit.org for information on bus service to the Uptown area.

The V.I.P. tent will be available on Saturday, February 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for people who walk, bus or bike to the Loppet, who participated in the Loppet Bicycle Commuter Incentive programs, and Penn Ice-Cycle Loppet riders.

Located at the end of the Mall (Calhoun Parkway/Knox Avenue, just north of Lagoon), the V.I.P. heated tent will feature music, warm drinks and more. Just lock your bike at the corral right in front of the V.I.P. tent, show a bus transfer, print out a data-sheet from the Loppet Bicycle Commuter Incentive program or participate in the Penn Ice-Cycle Loppet. Then come in and warm up, grab some food and relax!

Bicycle trails are plowed in the winter! The Midtown Greenway, Cedar Lake trail, Kenilworth Trail and the entire Grand Rounds are great to ride on! Please note the Luce line is not plowed as to not interfere with the ski trails! Get some great winter riding tips.

All Metro Transit buses can accommodate bikes. There are many buses that go through Uptown and you can take the 7 to get to the start line in Wirth Park on Sunday.
