Detailed information about the REI Tour, Hoigaard’s Classic, and the Freestyle Loppet races happening on Sunday.

Pre-Race Amenities

The Wirth Park Chalet will be open near the start area for skiers to stay warm before the race starts. Restrooms and Port-a-Johns will be available on-site. A bag-drop will be located near the start area with all bags being transported to the finish area in Uptown. Spectators are encouraged. Have your spouse or friends join you on the bus to cheer you on. A shuttle bus will return them to the Optum Health lot or to Uptown.

On-Course Amenities

4 aide stations and 1 water/pole stop will be available along the course

Cutoff Times

For the safety of both skiers and volunteers, skiers must reach the following positions by the designated times. Skiers who do not reach these positions in time will be transported to the finish area.

  • Glenwood Ave/Wirth Beach – 1:00 p.m.
  • Interstate 394 crossing aide station – 2:00 p.m.
  • Lake of the Isles aide station – 3:00 p.m.
  • Lagoon between Lake of the Isles and Lake Calhoun – 3:15 p.m.

Post-Race Amenities

The finish area in Uptown will be open until 4:00 p.m. Timing chips must be returned before leaving the finish area. Food, changing rooms, and the bag claim will be located near the finish line. A ski corral will also be available for participants to leave their equipment in a secure area until 4:00 p.m. Free showers will be available for all Loppet skiers at the nearby YWCA, located two blocks north of the finish area on the west side of Hennepin Avenue. Bring race bib for admission.
