14K race in a two-lap format. Note that this is a one or two-dog team competition. This will be exciting skiing, with twisting, challenging hills and international-class competition.

There is no race-day registration. Online registration ends on the Tuesday evening before the event.

The Chuck & Don’s 14k Skijoring Loppet is the second day of the National Skijoring Championship event. Skijoring teams can compete in one or both days. Those teams that compete in both Saturday’s Chuck & Don’s Skijoring Loppet 7K and Sunday’s Chuck & Don’s 14k Skijoring Loppet will automatically be entered into the Combined National Championship event.

Key times:

11 a.m. – Packet pickup starts at the Theodore Wirth Chalet
Noon – Mandatory Skijorers Meeting
12:45 p.m. – Call to Start
1:00 p.m. – Skijoring starts
2:30 p.m. – Skijor Loppet Awards in Comedy Sportz in Calhoun Square.

Classes:

14km: While open to all teams, the 14 kilometer race is part of the National Skijoring Championship. This race will feature some of the best skijoring teams in North America. Racers make two loops around this challenging trail. One or two dogs are permitted in this event. Cash prizes for the top three teams in the 14K race.
7km: A great chance to skijor on this great trail. One lap on this challenging trail will get your heart pumping. It may even get you thinking about 14k next year. One or two dogs are permitted in this event.

Parking:

There will be no on-site parking before 11 a.m. and no skijoring teams will be allowed on the trails until noon. After 11 a.m. there will be parking in the Wirth Chalet parking lot (1301 Theodore Wirth Parkway, Minneapolis MN).

Race Rules:

Participants are responsible for reading, understanding and complying with published race rules. Any changes or adjustments to these rules will be communicated during the mandatory Skijorers’ meeting held prior to the race. Safety is of up most concern for all and rules will be altered to ensure safety.

Race Format:

Skijoring teams will be individually started in this event. 7K teams will start after the 14k teams.

Packet Pickup:

Participants can pickup their packets on Friday night from 6:00 to 9:00 at the Loppet Registration Center in Calhoun Square. On Sunday, packets for this event must be picked up at the Theodore Wirth Chalet.

There are cash prizes for the top three teams in the following categories:

The Overall Champion teams for both men and women will be determined from the best combined race times from Saturday (7k) and Sunday 14k races
