Teams of up to 4 individuals will bring 4′ x 4′ x 8′ blocks of snow to life along the Mall in Uptown. Each team has 5 hours to create their work of art.

- Saturday, February 4, 2012
- Sculpting: 8 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Judging: 1:15 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.
- Awards: 2:00 p.m.
- Sunday, February 5, 2012
- Viewing available for spectators
Each team receives: One snow block, four feet long, four feet wide, and eight feet high.
How to enter
The competition is free to enter, but contributions to defray the costs of producing the blocks of snow and of cleanup, etc. are welcome.
To enter the contest, the Foundation requires a $100 refundable deposit. Teams that do not show up or make a good effort toward completion will not receive their $100 deposit back. (This is just to ensure that all snow blocks are used). Note that teams will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis as there a limited number of slots available.

The City of Lakes Nordic Ski Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation and contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent provided by law. Proceeds from this and other Nordic Ski Foundation events go to providing youth programming for students in the Minneapolis Public Schools.
Awards
Awards will be presented at 2 p.m. on Saturday adjacent to the sculpting grounds. Team must be present to receive award.
- 1st prize: $500
- 2nd prize: $200
- 3rd prize: $100
